In case you didn't have a chance to attend the open house on TARGET.....

  1. 1. It was well attended (over a hundred people)

  2. 2. TARGET generates revenue to offset millage rates VS. expenses for

  3. providing city services........ fire, EMS, police, trash, schools,

to ALL residents in over 100 homes.

  4. 3. Revenue from Target is paid annually vs. a one-time business license

  5. for townhomes.

  6. THE TOWNHOMES WERE APPROVED UNDER THE PREVIOUS MAYOR.

    IT'S ONE OR THE OTHER.

Pictures I took to share

  • Revenue generating (CONTINUOUS)

  • Job opportunities for all (retirees & students)

  • another shopping option...instead of driving

    to Greenville and beyond

    OR

  • 100 + TOWNHOMES - reoccurring city

expenses...(fire, EMS, police, schools, trash collection)

In general, it takes 2 to 3 years to get to this point in a project. Location, location, location. The former interim city administrator attended. It appeared as if he supports it, even if the former mayor doesn't. If he didn't want it .... why didn't he tell TARGET when they first came to the city? hmmmm...makes you wonder???
