Voted YES: Resolution 2025-17 dedicating city owned property as the home of an inclusive playground. The city does not have to pay for this as there is a foundation footing the bill.

Voted YES: Ordinance 2025-12 1st reading. Amend the operating budget to authorize the purchase of IT equipment for the police department. This purchase is $300,000 with yearly recurring charges of $122,349.84
Sheriff Blankenship spoke .....I'll have to be brief and I have to be very careful what I say because there are council ......911 belongs to me as the Sheriff. And you will notice my signature is NOT on that paper, nor does it have my opinion. There's no agreement between the Sheriff's office and county administration that we would put our 911 dispatchers inside that building. That's all I can say.
CONSIDER THE FOLLOWING:
Why did council have information from the county, but NOT from the city?
Donna Rainey and Justin Alexander were on council when these two matters were approved in 2025. Did they ask FUNDING questions then? If not, why now?
These agenda topics were ANSWERED by city staff. Why hadn't these council members met or ask for answers before calling a special meeting? (see below)
Did these council members ask questions of the Mayor or city administrator prior to the meeting?
With such a concern for funding, HOW MUCH DID IT COST THE TAXPAYERS for THIS "SPECIAL CALLED MEETING", which resulted in NO ACTION..
Many CITIZENS were so concerned about these topics, they took TIME OUT OF THERE BUSY SCHEDULES TO WATCH THIS COUNCIL prove THEY HAD NOT SEARCHED FOR ANSWERS FROM THE CITY....BUT THEY SURE HAD INFORMATION FROM THE COUNTY? Who's interest are they serving ... the city's or the county's?
